“One Day I’ll…”
Are You Living on “One Day I’ll” Island?
“One day I’ll take that trip…”
“One day I’ll pick up that hobby…”
“One day I’ll get fit…”
“Oneday I’ll do what I really love…”
Sound familiar? If it does, you’re not alone.
Here’s the hard truth: that “one day” will never come.
Waiting for the “perfect time” keeps you stuck. I know because I lived on this island too once. For years, I told myself:
“One day I’ll come out.”
“One day I’ll quit smoking.”
“One day I’ll fix my relationship with alcohol.”
“One day I’ll feel less stressed and find balance.”
“One day I’ll reach out for support.”
“One day I’ll do work I love.”
But that day? It never came.
I kept waiting, putting off what I knew deep down I needed to do. And the longer I stayed on the island, the more frustration and dissatisfaction grew. Until one day, the pain of staying the same became greater than the fear of taking action.
That’s when I heard something that changed everything:
"If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes"
Quite literally, waiting for the “right time” means nothing will happen. By doing nothing, we’re ensuring nothing changes.
So, I made a decision. I embraced the discomfort, leaned into the fear, and took the plunge. I stopped waiting for some imaginary “perfect day” to come along. Instead, I started with small, consistent actions—and it transformed my life:
I quit smoking
I transformed my relationship with alcohol
I built a sustainable fitness routine
I shifted limiting beliefs and improved my mental health
I transitioned into work I truly love
I built my own business
The secret formula?
Goal + Action + Consistency = Change
And here’s the truth: consistency doesn’t mean taking massive leaps all the time. It simply means showing up—day after day—in whatever way you can.
Here’s your permission to take the first step. Don’t wait for a day that’s never coming. Even the smallest action creates momentum, and that momentum has the power to transform your life.
I love the French idiom: “Petit à petit, l’oiseau fait son nid”—little by little, the bird builds its nest. Just pick up that first stick.
Your dreams deserve to happen today, not “one day.” Life is fleeting, and every moment spent waiting is a moment lost.
Why not star that journey with me today?
P.S. It’s never too late to start.
